Warranty Policy

The BREEDER MAGIC limited warranty: what is covered, for how long, and how to make a claim if a product lets you down.

1. Warranty Overview and Coverage Periods

BREEDER MAGIC stands behind the equipment we sell. Every eligible product purchased from our online store carries a limited warranty against manufacturing defects, beginning on the delivery date shown in your carrier tracking:

  • 12-month limited warranty: LED grow lights (panels, bars, clip lights, and their included drivers, remotes, and timers) and irrigation equipment (drip irrigation kits, self-watering inserts, automatic watering timers, pumps, and misting systems).
  • 90-day limited warranty: hand tools and accessories, including pruning shears, bonsai scissors, trowels, moisture meters, moss poles, plant support stakes and trellises, ceramic and plastic planters, and plant stands.

Consumable goods — potting mixes, soil amendments, fertilizers, and other substrates — are not warranted beyond the damaged-on-arrival protections in our Returns, Refunds & Exchanges Policy. This warranty extends only to the original purchaser and to gift recipients who can identify the original order; it is not transferable through resale.

2. What Is Covered

This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship that appear under normal indoor household use as described in the product manual and our Product Safety & Proper Use Policy. Representative examples of covered failures:

  • A grow light panel with dead LED zones, a failed driver, persistent flicker at rated voltage, or a spectrum-mode switch that stops responding.
  • An irrigation timer that no longer holds its programmed schedule, a pump that seizes within the coverage period, or a factory-fitted hose barb that leaks at a molded joint.
  • Pruning shears whose spring, latch, or pivot bolt fails under ordinary garden cutting, or blades that chip along a factory grind line.
  • A ceramic planter that develops glaze crazing or structural cracking without impact under normal indoor conditions.
  • Moss poles or trellises whose joints or clips fail under the plant loads stated on the product page.

3. What Is Not Covered

Like every limited warranty, ours excludes damage that the product was not built to withstand. The following are not covered:

  • Misuse and abuse: drops, impacts, cutting wire or bone with pruning shears, exceeding stated weight or wattage limits, or use contrary to the manual.
  • Outdoor use: our grow lights, timers, and most accessories are indoor-rated only; exposure to rain, direct sun, or freezing temperatures voids coverage for the affected item.
  • Normal wear: gradual blade dulling, cosmetic scratches, fading of finishes, mineral scaling on irrigation parts from hard water, and expected LED lumen depreciation within the manufacturer's stated range.
  • Water damage to non-rated items: submersion or soaking of electronics that are not expressly water-rated, including moisture meters left in saturated soil beyond the probe line and timers installed in splash zones.
  • Unauthorized modification or repair: opened housings, spliced cords, third-party drivers, or replacement parts not supplied by us.
  • Damage from power surges, incorrect voltage, pests, or accidents unrelated to a manufacturing defect, and any product purchased from an unauthorized reseller.

4. How to Make a Warranty Claim

Claims are simple and handled by humans. Email care@breedermagicshop.com with the subject line "Warranty Claim" and include: your order number, the product name, a description of the failure and when it began, and two or three photos or a short video demonstrating the problem (for electrical items, a video of the fault occurring is the fastest path to approval). Our team acknowledges every claim within 1 business day and issues a decision within 3 business days of receiving complete information.

Occasionally we will ask you to run a quick diagnostic — trying a different outlet for a grow light, flushing an irrigation line, or checking a timer's battery — before approving the claim. If we need the item back for inspection, we email a prepaid return label; do not ship anything until asked, as most claims are resolved from photos alone.

5. Proof of Purchase

A valid proof of purchase is required for every warranty claim. Any of the following works: your BREEDER MAGIC order number, the order confirmation email, or a bank or card statement line showing the transaction date and amount. If you checked out as a guest and lost the confirmation email, send us the email address used at checkout and the approximate order date and we can usually locate the order for you. Gift recipients may instead provide the giver's name and approximate purchase date. Products without any traceable proof of purchase are assumed to carry a coverage period starting from the product's first known sale date in our records, or may be declined if no record exists.

6. Remedies: Repair, Replacement, or Refund

For an approved claim, we choose the remedy that gets you growing again fastest, in this order of preference:

  • Replacement parts or repair: for modular items — a new driver for a grow light, a replacement pump head, a fresh spring kit for shears — shipped free within 2 business days.
  • Full replacement: a new unit of the same model, or if discontinued, a current model of equal or greater specification at no charge.
  • Refund: if neither repair nor replacement is practical, a refund of the purchase price to your original payment method, processed under the timelines in our Payment & Billing Policy (typically visible within 5 to 10 business days).

Replacement items and repaired products are warranted for the remainder of the original coverage period or 90 days from their delivery, whichever is longer.

7. Shipping for Warranty Claims

BREEDER MAGIC pays all shipping costs associated with an approved warranty claim within the United States: we email prepaid labels for any item we recall for inspection, and we cover outbound shipping on repaired units, replacement parts, and replacement products. You are responsible only for packing the item securely — original packaging is ideal, but any well-cushioned box is acceptable. For claims we decline after inspection, we will return the item to you once at our cost; if you decline return shipment, we will recycle the item responsibly. Shipments to and from addresses outside the United States, including APO/FPO addresses, are handled case by case and may involve shared shipping costs, which we will quote before anything moves.

8. Disclaimer of Implied Warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES — INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE — ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE LENGTH OF THE EXPRESS WARRANTY PERIOD STATED ABOVE FOR THE APPLICABLE PRODUCT. BREEDER MAGIC IS NOT LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM ANY PRODUCT DEFECT, INCLUDING LOSS OF PLANTS, TO THE EXTENT SUCH EXCLUSION IS PERMITTED BY LAW. Plant health outcomes depend on many factors beyond equipment, as explained in our Gardening & Plant Growth Disclaimer, and are not warranted.

9. Your Rights Under State Law

Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so some or all of the limitations in Section 8 may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state. For purchasers in states with strong consumer-protection statutes, nothing in this policy reduces any remedy those laws guarantee. This warranty is governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming to the extent not preempted by federal law, including the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, which applies to consumer products sold with written warranties in the United States.

10. Warranty vs. Returns: Which Applies?

Within 30 days of delivery, you generally have a choice: any eligible item, defective or not, can go back under our Returns, Refunds & Exchanges Policy, and damage discovered on arrival should be reported within 7 days for the fastest resolution. After the 30-day window closes, defects are handled exclusively under this Warranty Policy for the remainder of the applicable 12-month or 90-day period. When in doubt, just email us with photos — we will route your case to whichever process gives you the better outcome, and you never need to cite the correct policy to get help.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Warranty Policy from time to time as our product range grows. The version in effect on your delivery date governs your product's coverage; later changes never shorten a warranty you already hold. Material updates are posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date, and significant changes are announced on our homepage. This policy forms part of our Terms of Service; personal data collected during claims is handled per our Privacy Policy.
